Acumen Financial Planning will offer complimentary consultation surgeries throughout Financial Planning Week (3-9th October).

With the cost-of-living skyrocketing across the country, the need for comprehensive, coherent financial planning advice has never been more urgent. This year’s Financial Planning Week is aiming to empower consumers by debunking myths surrounding household finances and enabling honest dialogues around the topic.

Acumen Financial Planning will be participating in the initiative at its offices in Aberdeenshire, Edinburgh and Glasgow with a host of activities designed to educate the public about fiscal literacy. The consultation surgeries will be held to allow individuals to access quality financial advice from Acumen’s highly knowledgeable staff.

Organised annually by the professional body the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI), the Financial Planning Week initiative is spearheaded by Certified Financial Planner professionals and supported by their firms.

Acumen Financial Planning is part of The Financial Planning Group, which is also home to a number of award-winning financial services across the country including Acumen Employee Benefits, Loch Fyne, Medical and Dental, and financial advice service for millennials and Gen Zers, SpringGen. Free online consultations will also be on offer from SpringGen.

Rhian Morgan, director of The Financial Planning Group, said: “As households come under increasing pressure due to the cost-of-living crisis, financial planning firms are well-placed to offer guidance and advice on pensions, investments, savings and retirement plans as well as encourage open conversation around financial matters. We have always been an active supporter of Financial Planning Week and our teams across Scotland are looking forward to sharing their expertise and promoting the CISI’s valuable work.”

Sally Plant, CISI assistant director, Financial Planning & Education Development, added: “It has never been more important to get the message out – that financial literacy is an important tool for life, and financial planning is an essential part of wellbeing and mental fitness. Financial Planning Week helps raise awareness about the role of qualified financial planners in helping people from all walks of life, and all ages – and importantly, not just the wealthy – to think ahead and plan for the future.”
