Acumen financial planning expands Glasgow presence with new office
Scottish financial planning firm Acumen Financial Planning, based in Aberdeenshire, has expanded its footprint in Western Scotland with a new office in Glasgow’s West End.
The team, made up of 12 financial planning experts, has made the move to the West End location following significant growth throughout the company’s divisions. Acumen first established its presence in Glasgow in 2017 after acquiring Forty-Two Financial Planning.
Heading up the Glasgow division is regional manager Laura Crowe, a seasoned chartered financial planner with over two decades of experience in the financial sector. She will be supported by an expert team including Tom Hyslop, a chartered financial planner, along with paraplanners Amanda McLardie, Madailein Alexander and Steven Hurley, training and competence supervisor Pauline McKinley and client relationship manager Melanie Shields. Ms Crowe will also oversee the group’s most recent acquisition.
This expansion follows Acumen’s 2021 acquisition of wealth management practice Loch Fyne Financial. This acquisition bolstered Acumen’s team by five members, including certified financial planner Jackie Coyne, financial planner Paul Ross, client services manager Lisa Hodgson, technical support Joanne McIntyre, and most recently, paraplanner Emma Leitch.
Douglas McIntyre, founding director of Loch Fyne Financial, stepped down from his role in May of this year.
Ms Crowe said: “The new office opening, acquisitions and appointments highlight a significant and exciting time for the business.
“Having a presence within the cities in which we operate is so important, as it enables us to offer clients a space where they can access bespoke, high-quality financial planning advice.
“We are finding more than ever in recent years, that after the pandemic, face to face advice is appreciated more than ever. We look forward to welcoming our clients and the wider team to our new location.”
