ACCA members paint the town red at SSE Hydro
Members of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) painted the town red this week as part of a special behind-the-scenes tour of Glasgow’s SSE Hydro, one of the world’s busiest live music venues.
The iconic arena, part of the Scottish Event Campus was turned the colour red in honour of the visit of 30 members of ACCA’s Glasgow and West of Scotland network as they were given special insights into the financial challenges of running a major cultural institution from Billy McFadyen and Laura Shields of the SEC, both fellows of ACCA.
The event is one of a series of behind-the-scenes initiatives for ACCA members in the Glasgow and West of Scotland Members Network, and follows similar tours of Glasgow Airport and Scottish Television.
Billy McFadyen, FCCA, corporate services & financial director, SEC, said: “From hosting the very best of world music through to professional wrestling and political debates, being part of a dynamic venue such as The SSE Hydro means you always have to think ahead to make sure the organisation can continue to bring the best of global culture to Glasgow. Hosting ACCA members was a great opportunity to share some of that experience and demonstrate that you never know where a career in accountancy may take you.”
