abrdn in talks to acquire Interactive Investor
abrdn, the fund management firm formerly known as Standard Life Aberdeen, has confirmed that it is in talks to acquire online investment service, Interactive Investor.
A spokesperson from abrdn told Scottish Financial News that it is currently in discussions with J.C Flowers & Co, who is the current owner of Interactive Investor, regarding the potential sale of the company.
Interactive Investor describes itself as “the UK’s number one flat-fee investment platform” and has been operating for 25 years. It is thought that the deal could be worth around £1.5 billion.
abrdn added that there can be “no certainty” that these discussions will result in a transaction.
The firm said a further announcement would be made as and when appropriate.
