Aberdeenshire Council appoints Jamie Dale as chief internal auditor
Aberdeenshire Council has announced the appointment of Jamie Dale as its chief internal auditor with effect from 6 January 2022.
Mr Dale is currently the head of geographic and cross-government assurance for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
He previously held posts of head of cabinet and senior internal auditor within the FCDO. He has also held a senior associate position with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Dale said: “I am very excited to be appointed chief internal auditor for the council.
“I have worked extensively with various councils during my time at PwC and have always found them to be one of the most interesting parts of the public sector, with their own operating environments and unique challenges.
“I look forward to getting involved with this, and working with everyone across Aberdeenshire in the new year.”
Ritchie Johnston, director of business services, added: “Jamie will be a huge asset to Aberdeenshire Council, and I know will bring a wealth of experience to this post, allowing us to take important learnings from national government and private sector structures into our day-to-day operations.
“He will complement what is already a strong team. I am grateful to Colin Harvey for his support in leading the team in the meantime, and look forward to working with Jamie in 2022 and beyond.”
Colin Harvey will continue to lead the team until Mr Dale starts in post in the New Year.
