Aberdeen student wins RSM’s top accounting accolade for academic achievement
Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has sponsored a prize which recognises the top student in Financial Accounting Stage 2 on the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance degree programme at Robert Gordon University.
Second-year student Arran Robertson was awarded the prize, after achieving the highest overall score for both Financial Accounting Stage 2 modules. Arran’s achievement was marked at a prizegiving ceremony at RSM’s offices in Aberdeen, with office managing partner Andrew Forsyth presenting Arran with a £500 cheque.
This year, Arran will be completing a year-long placement at CNR International before starting his final year at university.
Andrew Forsyth, RSM’s office managing partner in Aberdeen, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Robert Gordon University and support emerging young talent from a local institution, as they prepare to embark on their career in accounting.
“Arran has excelled in his recent financial accounting exams, and it was a pleasure to mark his achievement at our offices in Aberdeen. I am sure he will continue to thrive throughout his final year at university, before taking his first steps in the profession.”
Arran Robertson added: “I was happy to receive the award from RSM for two modules which have provided so much background in financial accounting, which will be useful as I take my career forward.”
