Aberdeen Asset Management has signed up pensions, benefits and risk consultancy, Hymans Robertson, to provide its ‘GO’ online technology to customers.

Built on Hymans Robertson’s actuarial and technology expertise, the GO system has analysed the savings plans of 400,000 individuals, bringing over £2 billion of assets under advice in the past year.

As the online Aberdeen Asset Management service is made directly accessible individual UK investors, the new partnership will see the technology made available outside of the workplace DC market for the first time.

John Brett, global head of distribution at Aberdeen Asset Management, said: “This ground-breaking strategic partnership combines the actuarial expertise of one of the leading pension consultants with one of the leading investment management brands in the UK.”

Ronnie Bowie, senior partner at Hymans Robertson said: “We have a strong track record serving the workplace savings market, where our GO technology is being used by many employers to help employees make proper provision for retirement. It is an exciting development for the firm to be diversifying into new areas, using our technology solutions to help investors outside of the workplace for the first time.

“We are delighted to be working with Aberdeen. We have a shared ambition to provide digital services to savers giving them better financial outcomes, providing simple solutions in the face of much more complexity.”
