AAB Group announces largest round of promotions across UK
AAB Group has announced their largest promotion round to date, with the appointment of four new partners, a new managing partner and four existing partners taking on additional responsibility as business unit heads.
The promotion round reflects the rapid growth of the business-critical services group since securing investment from London-based August Equity in 2021.
Four directors with a combined tenure at AAB Group of more than 56 years have been promoted to Partner from 1st April 2023. The new partners have all progressed through the bespoke partner development programme which is designed to nurture talent and facilitate career progression within AAB Group.
In the Aberdeen office, Lynn Wilson has been appointed corporate tax partner, Stuart Petrie as business advisory group partner, and Jill Walker as private client partner, while Gunhild Dam has been promoted to the role of private client partner in the Leeds office. Wherever they are based in the country, each of the partners provide specialist tax support to businesses and individuals across the UK and internationally.
The Leeds office will also welcome James Hunt as managing partner on 1st April. He joined the firm as a graduate, and continues to support clients ranging from law firms and manufacturing clients to multinational groups. He succeeds Chris Jones who will continue to support clients in the role of senior partner.
Since the investment from August Equity in October 2021, AAB Group has more than doubled both revenue and headcount across the UK and Ireland. This growth has prompted the group to develop the next generation of leaders with the appointment of four new Business Unit Heads responsible for their respective areas across AAB Group.
Paula Fraser becomes head of private client in the Edinburgh office; in Aberdeen Lauren McIlroy becomes head of virtual finance function and Gordon Steele becomes head of corporate finance, while David Purse is promoted to head of payroll and employment taxes in the firm’s London office.
Graeme Allan, chief executive at AAB Group, commented: “I am immensely proud of each individual promotion across the Group. We are an extremely ambitious firm, and I am thrilled that we are delivering unmatched opportunities for our people. We remain committed to investing in the talent across our business to further enhance the awesome client service we deliver day in, day out for businesses and individuals.”
“I am delighted that we can recognise that five of the nine appointments are female leaders in the Group. This reflects the group’s commitment to developing each and every one of our team members based solely on talent and merit.”
AAB Group now employs more than 750 people in 10 locations across the UK and Ireland.
