Scottish accountancy practice Wylie & Bisset has promoted two long-standing members of its business recovery and insolvency department.

The promotions see insolvency managers Paul McDougall, with almost 15 years’ service with the firm, move to associate director, and Chris Wardle, with over 19 years’ service, to senior manager with effect from 1 February 21.

Donald McKinnon, managing partner at Wylie & Bisset, said: “We’re delighted to recognise the long-standing contribution made by two of the most-valued members of our insolvency team through these promotions. Very well done to both Paul and Chris, who have worked very hard and contributed to the success of the firm over many years.

“Paul’s focus is on the Consumer Debt Solutions area of the department and he has second-to-none technical knowledge of all Personal Insolvency matters. Integral to the business achieving FCA status, he has also been responsible for developing the provision of our DAS service within the department.

“Chris has held various roles and duties within our insolvency department and remains the ‘engine room’ of our AiB contract, accounts and admin function. This promotion sees him progress to a role more concerned with compliance, with support from managers and a capable team.”

Commenting on his promotion, Mr McDougall added: “I am incredibly proud and delighted with my promotion to associate director. I started by career at Wylie & Bisset 15 years ago as an administrative assistant and I put my promotion down to the support and investment the firm provides for its staff.”

Mr Wardle said: “Following a career in the Royal Navy spanning 22 years, and thereafter 19 years at Wylie & Bisset, I am looking forward to the challenges ahead with this new and enhanced role.”

These latest promotions follow the recent promotions of Laura Smith, head of Wylie & Bisset’s healthcare team, and Catherine Livingstone, head of its business advisory services team, to partnership level.
