Wealth manager to hold free retirement with advice sessions in Dundee

Led by Thorntons Investments, the sessions entitled ‘Are you on track for the retirement you want?’ will help attendees explore whether their retirement plans are fit for what they want to do after their years of working.

The one-hour session will be run on different days giving people options as to when they come along.  The three options are Friday 23 August, Wednesday 4 September, and Wednesday 25 September.

Rachel Anderson, solicitor at Thorntons Solicitors, will be discussing the importance of succession planning including Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Inheritance Tax planning.

Chartered financial planner, Susan Bennett, from Thorntons Investments will meanwhile be sharing her top tips for planning effectively for retirement, regardless of age.

Susan said: “Many of us simply file away our pension statements each year in the hope that we are saving enough, but will that allow you to lead the lifestyle you want?

“Some of the most common questions that people ask themselves include when do I want to retire? How much money do I need to complete my bucket list?

“You ought to be asking ourselves those questions, and many more, well before your preferred retirement age. Our forthcoming seminar will help you to answer those questions.”

Rachel added: “When it comes to planning for the future, speaking to a solicitor about putting your affairs in order is a sensible step.  We can advise people on how to protect and manage their assets for the future. I will be covering the options open to people at each of the three sessions.
