The team, which supports clients across the firm’s four UK offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and London, becomes one of a select few in Scotland to hold the STEP Gold Employer Partner accreditation.

STEP is the global professional association for practitioners who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning. Through its Employer Partnership Programme, it provides a set of quality standards that recognise employers’ commitment to staff and their ongoing professional development, and their undertaking to provide client service of the highest quality within the wealth planning profession. Full STEP members, known as TEPs, are recognised internationally as experts in their field, with proven qualifications and experience.

Commenting on the prestigious accreditation, Gillian Campbell TEP, a partner in Shepherd and Wedderburn and the firm’s head of private client in the north of Scotland, said: “We are extremely proud to receive our Gold accreditation, which is testament to our ongoing commitment to develop both our practice and our people.”

Ms Campbell, who is a fully-qualified STEP member, along with ten other members of Shepherd and Wedderburn’s private client team, added: “We are delighted to enter into this partnership with STEP, and to continue to invest in delivering legal advice and client service of the highest quality.”

Jenni Hutchinson, STEP’s head of employer partnerships, added: “Shepherd and Wedderburn has demonstrated a supportive and encouraging approach to learning and development and we are pleased to see the value it places on staff training. We had no hesitation in recognising these qualities by awarding it a well-deserved Gold Employer Partner accreditation.”
