Scottish accountancy firm Scott-Moncrieff has announced the appointment of Mike Harkness as partner.

Mr Harkness has been with the firm, which operates from offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness, for nine years and is an audit specialist dealing with commercial audit for a range of clients.

He also has particular interest and expertise in charities, independent schools, technology and life sciences.

Managing partner Stewart MacDonald said of the appointment: “Mike is very highly regarded both within and out with the firm and I know he will continue to deliver an excellent service to clients and grow our business. His appointment supports our strategic and commercial objectives and given Mike’s track record of commitment and success, his advancement to partner is very well deserved.”

Last year, Scott-Moncrieff announced a record number of partner appointments, and this year announced a merger with Inverness firm Callander Colgan. The latest appointment brings the number of partners to 19.

The company has eight directors and a total workforce of 180 providing audit, tax, business advisory and corporate consulting services to commercial, public sector, not-for-profit and private clients.
