A total of £130,000 was obtained to open a third dental practice which will serve the village of Dargavel and create five new jobs to the community.

Husband and wife team, Philip and Arlene Byrne, operate two practices locally in Erskine and Linwood. Together they employ 25 members of staff and deliver treatment to over 14,000 NHS patients.

Mr Byrne qualified in 2002, opening his first practice in Erskine in 2010 and later at Linwood in 2014. Patient numbers have continued to grow over the past decade, with the third practice recently opened in Dargavel to cater to growing demand.

Philip Byrne, owner of Dargavel Dental Care, said: “Over the years, we have established ourselves as trusted and reliable dental practitioners and the opening of our third practice highlights our reputation and popularity in the local area.

“We are grateful to Royal Bank of Scotland for their support in the last few months, helping us to realise our growth ambitions.”

Adam Galbraith, relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “Philip and Arlene have continued to grow, thanks to their well-established reputation in the local area and we’re pleased we could assist them in opening their third branch. We wish them all the best as they open their new practice.”
