Rosebank sells home-grown plants and features a café, butcher’s shop and a clothing and gift shop. Funding will be used to refresh the building frontage as well as expand the carpark to meet growing customer demand.

The family-run business was established by the Forrest family 65 years ago and is currently run by Thomson and Helen Forrest and their son and daughter-in-law Craig and Susan. The business has continued to grow over the years and now employs 30 members of permanent staff, with plans to hire a further six once the building work is complete.

Craig Forrest, owner of Rosebank Garden Centre, said: “Since opening our café and gift shop a few years ago, we’ve seen customers spending more and more time on site, meeting with friends and family. This is where we see our growth in the coming years, and our ambition is for Rosebank to become a destination centre where people can spend a few leisurely hours.

“A considerable amount of work has gone into the refurbishment, and I’d also like to thank John at the Royal Bank of Scotland for his continued support.”

John Frame, senior relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “The business has gone from strength to strength over the years, and this is down to the dedication of the Forrest family to keep pace with customers’ demands. I’m sure the refurbishment of the building and the expansion of the car park will attract even more visitors, and we wish the best to the Forrest family.”
