Premier Inn to invest £70m in Scotland with five new hotels opening in 2020
Premier Inn owner Whitbread has announced a £70 million investment in Scotland with plans to open five new hotels in 2020.

The hotel operator said that the move will create an estimated 200 new jobs.
The new openings will include a new super-sized 249-bed hotel in Glasgow’s St Enoch Square and a 136-bed hotel on Edinburgh’s Princes Street.

Altogether, Premier Inn is on course to open 735 new beds this year with a mixture of the five new hotels and extensions. The new openings include a 60-bed hotel in Aviemore, an 85-bed hotel in Thurso and a 96-bed hotel in Hamilton in Glasgow.
The company is also set to expand room capacity in its Edinburgh East, Fort William and Inverness West hotels.
