Based at Queen Street, Glasgow, the Winterhill Scotland team will provide the firm’s full range of valuation and recovery advisory services to businesses across the country.

The office will be headed by Tom McWilliam, who has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, banking, risk, and recovery, as well as the energy and construction industries, has held senior roles at high-profile financial institutions including First National Bank of Boston, Nationwide, and MCR.

The new office has been launched in response to increasing demand for Winterhill’s services across the UK and will serve existing client businesses which have operations in Scotland, as well as new Scottish clients.

Mr McWilliam said: “We will continue to provide the seamless Winterhill service that our clients have come to expect throughout the group, but we’ll also be bringing our expert valuation and recovery advisory services to new clients ranging from banks, asset based lenders and advisers, to private equity houses and corporate recovery and turnaround professionals north of the border.

“Despite a challenging market, we’re experiencing growing demand for our services. We’re expecting our oil and gas, and renewable energy valuation expertise to be of particular interest to companies in Aberdeen and across Scotland,” he added.

Winterhill chief executive, Neil Duckworth, added: “Having a base in Scotland is an important part of our growth strategy. We have a strong reputation in the market place and are always looking at ways to improve our client services and meet their often complex requirements. Tom’s experience will be an asset to clients, both old and new.”
