iZettle appoints two managers for its Edinburgh-based team

Swedish Fintech iZettle has appointed Sam Kemp and Sophie Goddard as managers in its Edinburgh office.

iZettle is a digital commerce solution for SMEs, with products including a contactless card device through which people can give money to buskers rather than saying they have no change.

The company currently employs 80 people in Edinburgh and hopes to increase its headcount by 15 before the end of 2019.

Sam Kemp has joined the firm from the Open University Scotland, while Sophie Goddard has moved from DR Newitt Recruitment. Both have been given remits to expand iZettle sales across the whole of Scotland.

Mr Kemp said: “It is fantastic joining this highly-motivated team and taking the iZettle story out to businesses across Scotland. We feel that our products and services are best in class and we’re determined to show Scotland’s SMEs the multiple benefits.”

Ms Goddard said: “It is brilliant to be joining a company such as iZettle at a critical time in its growth. This is very exciting and we want to share our passion for this business with our customers across Scotland, while consulting with them about how iZettle can add extra value to their businesses.”

Edward Hallett, managing director at iZettle UK, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sam and Sophie to iZettle as we continue to expand the team in Scotland and the rest of the UK. They have arrived with a wealth of experience in consulting independent SME businesses. We believe both will bring a great deal of value to our customer base as we continue to support our merchants, providing tools that help them get paid, sell smarter and grow their business.”
