Hutcheon Mearns announces trio of appointments

Pamela Johnston, Iain McGettrick and Andrew Stephen

The move comes due to a growing demand for bespoke resource support from practice-trained accountants who can support short or long-term project requirements.

Pamela Johnston and Andrew Stephen join Iain McGettrick to add considerable Exploration and Production (E&P) and Private Equity expertise and provide a range of services – from interim Financial Controller cover and technical accounting to audit preparation projects.

Pamela Johnston takes up the position of Senior Specialist. She is a Deloitte-trained Certified Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of experience with E&P operators ConocoPhillips and EnQuest. Pamela holds considerable expertise in financial reporting and analysis, planning, cost control and management accounting, with a particular skillset in upstream commercial arrangements.

Andrew Stephen also joins the team as Senior Specialist. With over 13 years of financial accounting experience and exceptionally strong technical accounting skills, Andrew thrives at interpreting, communicating, and interrogating new accounting policies and technical issues. He gained his ACCA qualification with EY in its Audit Department, and has since worked for various listed and private sector clients, including Total, BrewDog and DNO.

Senior specialist, Iain McGettrick, brings significant experience with private equity-backed offshore supply chain companies. Iain qualified as a CA in 2010 with Hall Morrice before spending nearly six years with ROVOP, working alongside the CFO to establish and develop the finance function as the company expanded into new regions and through various funding exercises. He then played a pivotal role in the planning, training and rollout of an upgraded financial reporting system at RAMCO.

Managing director, Craig Hutcheon, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Pamela, Andrew and Iain to the team during an exciting period of growth for the company.

“The enhanced experience of the team enables us to better support our clients with a turn-key team of specialists ready to provide short or medium-term support when required, as well as securing the right candidate in the long-term.

“From maternity cover to daily operations, our specialist team require minimal training to integrate with client projects and deliver tangible business benefits.”
