French Duncan plans expansion in anticipation of hotel accounting sector growth

Accountants and business advisors French Duncan LLP has announced plans to expand its hotels accounting team after taking on additional office space in Glasgow.

The firm recently took on a third floor at its Finnieston offices, bringing its total office space to 20,000 square foot and facilitating a projected 40 per cent increase in staff members over the next five years.

From now until August, the firm plans to take on 15 new people in hotel accounting.

Managing partner Graeme Finnie said: “These appointments highlight just how well our hotel accounting team is doing and reflect the growth we have already seen. This is part of our five-year expansion plan to increase our overall numbers by 40 per cent and to grow the business alongside our traditional accountancy service offering.

“There remain substantial growth opportunities in the accountancy sector, but we believe that the future for French Duncan lies in offering a wider range of services to our clients. As part of this we now offer HR and IT services, building on the model of our hotel accounting service.

“These appointments continue our recruitment drive which has already seen us appoint 24 new employees over the last nine months. We are committed to hiring the very best individuals and offering them fantastic employment prospects and a great working environment.”

Hotel accounting director Ian Bremner added: “We have grown the hotel accounting service substantially over the last few years to become one of the leading providers in this sector. I think that the market will expand substantially in the coming years as more hotel owners and management companies find out about our unique offer.”
