EY appointed administrators of API Foils
Colin Peter Dempster and Robert Hunter Kelly of EY have been appointed as joint administrators of the Livingston-based packaging company API Foils.
The packaging factory, which makes foils and laminates, closed its doors on Friday with the loss of 107 jobs at the Livingston site.
A total of 155 jobs have been lost across the company’s four locations, which also include Manchester, Cheshire and Yorkshire.
API Foils is keeping 77 members of staff employeed to help operate the sites, The Insider reports.
Colin Demster said that the firm had “experiences difficulties in recent times due to the integration of its purchases, changes in regulation (specifically in relation to tobacco packaging), the loss of major customers and changes in the market”.
He said: “We will continue to trade certain parts of the business on a reduced capacity, supplying key customers who are supporting the business while we consider the group’s options.
“155 employees have been made redundant today across all four UK locations and we are providing assistance to those being made redundant.”
