Edinburgh Woollen Mill expected to appoint FRP Advisory as administrators

Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM) is expected to appoint FRP Advisory as administrators next week as part of a restructuring, according to reports.

The retailer, which moved its headquarters from the south of Scotland to north-west England nearly two years ago, aims to close 50 stores with the loss of 600 jobs, The Telegraph reports.

Chief executive Steve Simpson announced earlier this week that it would appoint an administrator as it had “found the past seven months extremely difficult”.

That administrator will be FRP Advisory, according to The Telegraph, and the number of stores which will close is much less than feared.
