Mr Allan, who is also general counsel for Aridhia Informatics Limited, has over 30 years experience in corporate and commercial law, and was previously a Corporate Finance Partner at Brodies.

He has expertise in all corporate and commercial matters including business startups, private equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, stock exchange flotations and listed company transactions.

Kergan Stewart was founded by Alan Stewart in 2012 and has enjoyed strong growth for the past three and a half years. The firm, which focuses exclusively in corporate and corporate finance work, has doubled partner numbers since it’s inception and turnover has increased dramatically. A further 30 per cent increase in turnover growth is projected for the current financial year.

Mr Stewart said: “I have known David for over 20 years and am delighted that he has joined the team at Kergan Stewart. He has a wealth of legal expertise, but more so, he has great business acumen, and in today’s market clients are looking for more than ‘just a lawyer’. He is a perfect fit for our team who are all experienced business people, having spent time in business as well as in the legal field.

“It is a busy time for Kergan Stewart, however I believe that we will continue to see turmoil in the legal market place in Scotland. As big firms are getting bigger, the middle ground is disappearing, and the niche practices are becoming more prominent. There is a nervousness amongst businesses and I have confidence that our extensive legal skills, practical experience and ability to offer sound business advice, will stand us in good stead for the future.”

Mr Allan added: “Kergan Stewart is a niche practice and I am thrilled to be joining the firm during such an exciting growth period. The high calibre of clients and corporate deals reflects not only the firm’s specialist focus, but their ability to provide personable Partner-led service, and I look forward to helping them continue to grow the business.”
