Continulus announces appointment of Graham McDonald and Janine Watson

Continulus, the Glasgow-headquartered online video-learning platform for health professionals, has appointed Graham McDonald, former head of global private equity at Aberdeen Standard Investments as chairman and Janine Watson, who has a background in private equity and law, as chief operating officer.

Having last month secured £0.5 million of equity investment from a consortium of seasoned UK private equity investors, the funds will be deployed in enhancing the company’s technological capacity to permit its continuing expansion and collaboration with some of the world’s most highly respected medical organisations.

Dr Eoghan Colgan, Company Founder and CEO, said: “I am absolutely delighted that two senior and highly accomplished Scotland-based professionals have agreed to take up key positions in our business.



“Following a highly successful career in finance spanning over 24 years, latterly as Head of Global Private Equity at Aberdeen Standard Investments, Graham is now using his wealth of business experience to develop and mentor Scottish businesses such as ours with significant global growth potential.

“Janine is a qualified business professional with operational experience which will be extremely beneficial to Continulus as we develop strong relationships with medical education organisations across the globe.

“Our mission at Continulus is to shorten the knowledge translation gap from high-impact evidence-based research to frontline practice by bringing the leading researchers and subject experts online, in a way that is accessible, affordable and inclusive for all healthcare professionals globally.”

Continulus already has global partnerships with a range of medical bodies including the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses and EB Medicine in the US.

Dr Colgan, who continues to work shifts in the Accident & Emergency department at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, added: “Our partnerships are an endorsement of the work we are doing in acute and critical care specialities where we will be continue to provide a package of lectures and courses by the world’s most authoritative experts.”
