Central Investment announces double appointment

Aberdeen-based financial Advisory firm Central Investment has added two new senior appointments to its team.

Gillian Hasting joins the Granite City company as a non-executive director and Ian Smith has taken up the position of operations manager.

Ms Hastings, a chartered accountant with almost 20 years’ of experience working in professional practice with Ernst & Young as a corporate finance partner, advising companies on corporate finance transactions, such as fund raisings, exits and strategic advice.



In addition to this she has worked as a financial director in a diverse range of industries and ownership structures, now adding Central Investment to the portfolio of companies she supports as either a non-executive director or finance director.

Mr Smith joins the team after having worked in the financial services sector for almost four decades, boasting a significant and proven track record in management within Bancassurance and retail banking, most recently for Lloyds Banking Group.

In his new role at Central Investment Mr. Smith will be responsible for assisting the directors in delivering a high quality client experience throughout all aspects of the clients’ relationship with the company.

Adding to the company staff changes, director Graham Cobban, who joined Central Investment in 1981, is retiring, having played a vital role in the development of the business, helping build strong relationships with a number of long-standing clients and professional practices.

Mr Robertson added: “The team are all incredibly grateful for Graham’s dedication and input to the business over the past 35 years, and we wish him all the best for his retirement.”
