Baillie Gifford postpones Edinburgh office move amid coronavirus pandemic

Baillie Gifford has confirmed that it has reassessed its plans to move staff into its new building in Edinburgh.

The fund manager previously signed a deal to pre-let 60,000 sq ft building at 20 West Register Street in St Andrew Square.

Baillie Gifford has now said that it will be sub-letting the offices in the building but will not be moving any staff there in light of the current coronavirus pandemic.

The firm said that it was always its intention to sub-let the majority of the building as this would have been additional space on top of its large Calton Square HQ offices and three floors of the Cube next door to that building.

A Baillie Gifford spokesperson said: “We decided to reassess our need for additional office space given the current circumstances and to avoid further disruption for our staff.”
