And finally…sleeping on the job

Benji BedBed manufacturer Sealy says it has already received 288 applications for a job advert it has placed for a ‘sleep ambassador’.

The role, for an initial three-month period, involves testing Sealy’s new range of beds, pillows and duvets for 2016, as well as trialling a number of ‘sleep experiences’ including testing sleep-aids and snooze-enhancing diets and lifestyles.

The ad, which was placed last week, advised applicants to fill in an online application form, letting Sealy know why they deserved to become the official sleep ambassador.

A Sealy spokesperson told website Recruiter that 288 people have already applied for the role, adding the position is open to all comers – even insomniacs.

The spokesperson added most of the people that have applied suffer from some kind of sleeping issue but the firm isn’t making any allowances for anyone that misses the 19 February deadline for entries through oversleeping.

The job commands a salary of £100 per sleep (experience), spanning 10 sleeps, while applicants can be based anywhere in the UK.
