International pop star Taylor Swift is reported to be eying-up a multi-million pound swoop for a Scottish castle.

Having already bagged herself a Scottish boyfriend in Dumfries-born DJ and record producer Calvin Harris, the reports claim she is currently negotiating the purchase of the 16th-century Tower of Lethendy, north of Perth, so she can have a base near to his family in Edinburgh.

Swift, 25, and Harris met at the Brit Awards in February and went public with the relationship in April.

Lethendy Castle dates back to 1570 and the estate boasts its own 18-hole golf course, heated swimming pool and tennis courts.

The asking price, as advertised by selling agent Savills, is for offers over £4.6 million, which should be well within Swift’s price range having previously spent more buying her New York apartment.

The red sandstone, eight-bedroom castle, which was renovated 20 years ago, is B-listed as a property of regional importance.

It is currently owned by a Canadian family, and is available for rent as an upmarket holiday home and wedding venue.
