And finally…Scots businesswoman in penniless global charity fundraiser

A businesswoman who regularly commutes from her home in the north of Scotland to Switzerland is to set off on a three-day, 10,000 mile trip across the world – without spending a single penny.

Later this month Alisanne Ennis, 56, will empty her pockets in the hope of raising thousands of pounds for charity.

Starting in her hometown of Huntly with no money, no credit card and no prebooked travel, the business consultant is preparing for the adventure of a lifetime.

Her mission is similar to a jail break challenge – where people have to get from A to B without spending any money.

Combining a bank holiday with the three days a year her employers, global professional services firm Accenture, give her to conduct charity work, Mrs Ennis will begin her journey on May 25.

She said: “My plan – whether it will come off or not – is to see if anybody wants to help and pretty much go with the flow.”

Mrs Ennis is taking on the challenge to raise money for Marie Curie which helps tens of thousands people living with terminal illnesses.

So far she has raised more than £900 of her £1,500 target.

Anyone wishing to donate to the charity or sponsor a leg of Mrs Ennis’s journey can find out more at justgiving. com/fundraising/alisanneennis
