And finally…I did Nazi see that coming

A neo-Nazi politician who participated in anti-refugee marches and handed out racist propaganda received first aid from Syrian asylum seekers after crashing his car, German media reports.

Stefan Jagsch, 30, was hospitalised last week after losing control of his vehicle and hitting a tree near Büdingen in Hesse.

Two vans carrying Syrian asylum seekers came across the scene before emergency services could respond.

Jagsch was removed from the car by two men who gave him medical treatment and passed on information about his condition on discovery to the authorities once they arrived.

The bizarre coincidence has captured nationwide interest in a country dominated by discussion of the refugee crisis.

Jagsch’s party, the far-right National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD) – which is facing calls to be banned by Germany’s constitutional court – has even credited the asylum seekers’ “humane deed”.
