Their days of whipping free-kicks past goalkeepers and storming the pop charts might be long behind them but that didn’t stop David and Victoria Beckham making a staggering £61,644 every day last year.

According to latest figures, the pair raised £22.5million from their combined business ventures in 2014.

Beckham Brand Holdings, which represents Victoria’s fashion interests and the marketing of David’s image, had profits after tax of £12.69million.

Footwork Productions, which oversees David’s name and image, made £9.8m after tax.

The companies’ latest reports, filed at Companies House, also show that turnover from the two businesses totalled £65.8 million.

Victoria Beckham’s fashion range and related activities made £34.5 million, while David brought in £17.2 million through Beckham Brand Holdings and £14.1 million through Footwork.

While turnover at Footwork fell slightly in 2014, at Beckham Brand Holdings it increased by 55 per cent.

Profits at Beckham Brand soared sevenfold from £1.54 million to £12.69 million – a rise of 724 per cent.

The company paid corporation tax of £3.5 million on its profits.

Beckham Brand Holdings is controlled by David and Victoria Beckham along with Robert Dodds of XIX Entertainment – the organisation set up by the Beckhams’ manager, Simon Fuller.

It employed an average of 100 staff in 2014 and had a total wage bill of £5.5 million.

The accounts state that the company is planning to expand further the size of Victoria Beckham’s fashion business and the range of items on sale.

The marketing of David Beckham is also going to be increased through partnerships with “major international brands”.

A major project for David over the next few years is the creation of a Major League Soccer (MLS) team in Miami, which includes building an arena.

As part of his contract with LA Galaxy he was given the right to own an MLS franchise.

In September 2014, Victoria expanded her fashion empire when she opened a flagship shop in London’s Dover Street. Her clothing lines are staples on catwalks around the world during big events such as New York Fashion Week.

The marketing of the Beckhams recently expanded to include younger members of the family, when the couple’s 13-year-old son, Romeo, starred in luxury brand Burberry’s 2015 Christmas campaign.
