The helmet worn by Tom Cruise in the film Top Gun has sold at an auction for a whopping £250,000.
The prop was sold at Prop Store’s annual Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction which took place between August 26-27.
The helmet sold for more than five times its pre-sale estimate, NME reports.
Other items up for sale at the auction included a promotional Darth Vader costume from Star Wars, which sold for £221,000, and a stormtrooper helmet from A New Hope which sold for £105,700.
Brandon Alinger, the store’s chief operating officer labelled the event as a “resounding success”.
