And finally… sweet dreams

Online shoppers are increasingly making purchases in the middle of the night, a British credit card company has said.

And finally... sweet dreams

One in 15 purchases made with the John Lewis credit card are made between midnight and 6am, the British department store chain said.

Mike Jackson, director of financial services at John Lewis & Partners, said: “Shopping is now a 24-hour activity. More customers are shopping on their smartphones and tablet computers and it would appear many are using this technology to shop from the comfort of their own beds.”

According to the company’s figures, two-thirds of late-night purchases are by women, but their average spend is lower than men’s.
