Lucy Fisher was awarded the funding for her Knit It app which features knitting patterns, tools, tutorials and more to make it easier for young people to embrace knitting as a new hobby.

She hopes to use the funding to create her first product, the KnitPic Kit which will allow people to turn their photographs into a knitting pattern, The Press and Journal reports.

Ms Fisher said: “It’s really nice to be recognised for all the hard work we have put in.”
