And finally… Practice makes perfect

A German lawyer who spent 15 years re-enacting episodes of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? was invited to compete in the real show and won the top prize.

And finally… Practice makes perfect

Hamburg based lawyer Jan Stroh, ages 35 had watched every one of the 1,407 episodes of the German version of the show, Wer Wird Millionar and subsequently re-enacted them in his home-made version of the studio.

His home studio was built in the basement of his home, it included palm trees, a seascape backdrop, victory glitter explosions and sound effects.

Mr Stroh was invited onto the show this week for the 20th-anniversary episode.

The episode concluded with Stroh winning the €1 million (£910,000) prize.

In an interview with German tabloid, Bild, Stroh said: “The fact that I have spent almost 16 years re-enacting the show on my own quiz stage, complete with all the buzzer and bell sound effects, certainly gave me an advantage. Of course, the excitement was huge, especially having applied so often, and then to really be sitting opposite Herr Jauch, my biggest fear was to have a blackout.”

Mr Stroh said he intends to continue practicing as a lawyer in Hamburg, however, he would spend the money on new clothes, a holiday to Australia, charity and an update for his homemade quiz studio.
