And finally…new crowdfunding platform aims to help first time buyers raise elusive deposit

Rent BoardsProperty crowdfunding specialists Propnology have announced they are developing a new social enterprise platform aimed at helping first time buyers raise money towards a deposit for their first home.

In much the same way as social enterprise websites have automated the fundraising process for charitable causes, Gifted Deposit will provide a donation-based platform to allow aspiring first time buyers to create an engaging campaign and share it with their network of family, friends, colleagues and the Gifted Deposit community.

Fundraisers may also choose to reward contributors and supporters – offering anything from invitations to a house warming party, to offering their services for volunteer work - in return for the financial support they receive.

To maximise the deposit, the platform will also help first time buyers open a new Help to Buy ISA account and benefit from a tax-free bonus of 25 per cent - with a maximum government contribution of £3000 on savings of £12000 – which is applied when they purchase their first home.
