And finally… mile high club

India’s civil aviation authority has launched an investigation after photos emerged of over 160 people celebrating in the air as the plane travelled from Madurai in Tamil Nadu to Bangalore in Karnataka.

Weddings in Tamil Nadu are currently limited to 50 guests amid a devastating wave of Covid-19 which has killed hundreds of thousands of people, particularly in the south of India.

A spokesperson for SpiceJet, which operated the aircraft, said the flight was booked through a travel agent who was clearly briefed on Covid guidelines to be followed”, the BBC reports.
