And finally… giving back

The Mexican Government is set to auction off a $2.3 million mansion which was once owned by the infamous drug lord Amado Carrillo Fuentes.

And finally... giving back

Mr Fuentes became known as the ‘Lord of the Skies’ as his fleet of private jets were key in building up his multi-billion dollar drug empire.

The luxurious mansion in Mexico City is due to go up for auction on May 2, the Daily Mail reports.

The government’s Institute to Return Stolen Goods to the People is running the auction an all proceeds raised from the sale will be used to fund social programmes for low-income communities in Mexico.

The mansion has various bedrooms, an indoor pool, a bar, a patio and garage and is among a list of other properties owned by Mr Fuentes which were confiscated from by the Mexican authorities.

The auction will also see the sale of 107 lots of jewellery, 71 vehicles, six cars that are not serviceable, five aeroplanes and five other properties all of which have been confiscated from criminals and tax evaders throughout the country.
