A suspected teenage bank robber allegedly told police that he carried out an armed robbery because had “decided to try something new today”.
However, things didn’t go to plan - as he was caught by police within minutes.
Xengxai Yang is alleged to have walked into the Community First Credit Union in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA wearing a mask and black clothes and carrying a long gun.
A teller at the credit union said he restrained staff with zip ties and demanded cash, the Appleton Post-Crescent reports.
He allegedly managed to steal $10,745, but the amount was swiftly recovered after he bumped into a police officer on his way out of the building.
Asked for his motive, Yang is alleged to have said he had “decided to try something new today, so I robbed a bank”.
