A couple marked their recent engagement with a month-long crime spree that involved five bank robberies, police have alleged.
Craig Dickson and Karen Sophia Hyatt, 33, have been arrested in connection with a series of robberies carried out in the weeks after the pair announced their engagement on Facebook.
A witness to the first of the five robberies across the US state of Colorado said the robber, a man, dropped a mobile phone which was handed over to the FBI.
The phone was found to contain selfies which, checked against mugshots and social media, appeared to show Dickson and Hyatt, the Glenwood Springs Post Independent reports.
It had also been used for web searches about “bank robbery”, the FBI said.
