And finally… bad hair day

A professional hair model has been awarded 20 million rupees, almost £200,000, after a haircut at one of Delhi’s most renowned salon’s left her without a job.

And finally... bad hair day

The previously long-haired model, who had worked for several beauty companies said she was left with an unwanted short crop and burns to her scalp after a poor job at the salon in the ITC Maurya Hotel.

A disputes panel in Delhi was told that the model had removed her glasses upon sitting down and only realised the full extent of the disaster at the end of the appointment.

Her request for four inches to be cut was misinterpreted and her hair was instead cut to four inches long, The Times reports.

The model told the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission that an additional chemical treatment she received left her with “permanent damage” to her skin and a feeling that her “scalp was burnt…with itching and flaking”.

The commission said that it was awarding 20 million rupees (about £197,900) for emotional and professional damage.
